((one of my posts today on FB…))
John 13:34-35 “Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.”
Don’t be a hater. (even to the haters!)
This was the main part of my daily audio Bible reading today that just JUMPED out at me. I’ve heard it, read it and seen it a ton of times. I believe I’ve even blogged on it before. After my blog yesterday, I believe God was truly reminding me that no matter what–no matter how much I see people around me spew and sling their evil mess all about–I still must (IT IS A COMMAND) love them.
Some days, like yesterday, this command was so hard to obey. Love that?!? Ha! Yes, the Lord tells us. This was a command out of the MOUTH OF JESUS! We are to do it. It’s not a option. *Sigh* We don’t have to love the evil they stir up and wallow in. We must love the person–the creation of God. We are all God’s children and we must love all children of God even when they don’t love us or themselves or basically anything good. We must love them. *Sigh* again.
I truly strive to be happy and to do the things God wants me to do. I’m NOT saying I am successful at this all the time–WHO IS!? (“throw the first stone”) Lord knows we all have a hard time with this command, but that doesn’t mean we can’t continuously try and do a better job of it every day. We can! Just like anything, the more you practice it, the easier it gets.
Don’t be a Hater! (ESPECIALLY to the haters—they need love the MOST!)
