crazy, weird, UNIQUE!

Today, I started with the Bible reading as I usually do.  I’ve listened and read Proverbs many times, but today these verses STUCK OUT and made me shake my head and say, “Amen!”

Proverbs 30:7-9

 The Message (MSG)
7-9 And then he prayed, “God, I’m asking for two things

before I die; don’t refuse me—
Banish lies from my lips
and liars from my presence.
Give me enough food to live on,
neither too much nor too little.
If I’m too full, I might get independent,
saying, ‘God? Who needs him?’
If I’m poor, I might steal
and dishonor the name of my God.”

I do not want to have more than I need.  I hear people talk about winning the lottery.  I have students tell me that they are going into this or that profession for “the money.”  Doing something for the money only will never fill you up.  It may fill your belly, but it won’t fill your life with the riches you need.  What happened to being HAPPY, being secure and being content with what you have?  ONLY God can do that for you.

I do not want to put my trust in anything in this world that I may acquire.

I know that the Lord provides for me …HE gives me all I need.   Who needs MORE?!?

I pray this prayer above….  Please, Lord, do not allow me any  more than I need.  Please, also, sustain me continuously where I do not become a thief or anything else that may dishonor YOU!  Amen!

((…and may all of you be content in where you are with what you are given…and again I say AMEN!))
