We humans gripe about piddly stuff.
What’s that saying … Mountain out of a mole hill?
What are we thinking?
I recall a story someone told me one time of their bad day: Things just weren’t going right. Customers were ugly, sales were down and then they ripped their jeans. Mumbling became apparent to all those around AND THEN one person helped put the situation into perspective. They said, “Really, is it that bad? Think about it–There are people who are burning alive right at this moment.” Wow, how could a pair of ripped pants (or other things equivalent) be worse than that!?!
There are people in in this world in some serious pain, suffering horrible torments and even knocking on death’s door …
YET THERE ARE STILL PEOPLE getting upset about junk mail, the weather or the dripping drain. We can allow so many things to crawl all over us when, really, all we need is a big ole dose of, “Suck it up, buttercup!” (A saying one of my co-workers loves to use.)
We all need to stop sweating the small stuff. Let’s take the time to smell the fresh air and turn our face to the sunshine. Be thankful for the day no matter what it envelopes that particular 24 hours. Perspective: There is ALWAYS someone worse off than you!
Seriously, suck it up.
