crazy, weird, UNIQUE!

I like…

I like a clean bathroom. If it can smell like a soapy with a splash of bleach, that’s my fave.  Pee smell doesn’t dare enter my nostrils!  I hate public restrooms that have not been tended to.
I like comfortable shoes.  They can be cute, stylish or THE style, but if they ain’t comfy, they get a thumbs down.

I like college football.  I am watching a game right now. I really don’t care who plays (unless it’s Alabama, no need to talk about my support or non-support). I most always root for the underdog. I like shiny helmets and awesome plays.

I like good strong coffee with a dash of what one of my friends calls “old people creamer” which is the regular powder stuff. I don’t drink it all day, but I can drink it anytime during the day. I don’t have to have it to start my day, but I like to have a warm cup right when I get to work.

I like colors.  Green is my favorite, but I appreciate the importance of all the colors. Blue, which is most everyone’s favorite color is my least favorite. (Still like it, but it ranks lower than others. Yes, even after dookey brown.)

I like clouds. I love when they are huge, puffy and you can pick out Mickey Mouse’s head in one of the formations. I love when God streaks pink ones across a turquoise sunset.

I like to exercise. My body may not really show it, but I do enjoy to move. I feel better when I do it routinely, of course.  If I didn’t like food so much, I think the exercise would help me more. Haha! Maybe I will work on that ratio this year.

I like to create pretty things. I wish artists were appreciated more. I’d love to make stuff and get paid enough to live. Artists just really don’t have benefits unless you bust open like Rockwell or Englebreit, have an awesome manager and make a ton of lute.

I like to learn. I like learning new techniques. I like reading about new inventions and advancements.  I’m not scared when I need to learn something new. I like it!

I like summer. Winter weather makes me hurt. I love the sunshine and the beach. Give me summertime anytime.

I like mail. Of course, I like the HAPPY kind of mail like Christmas cards, birthday wishes and new magazines (Texas Highways and Reminisce are the only two I get). I like to order things on-line (it’s really not an addiction) so I can get it in the mail.

Above all mentioned…

I like that…

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I praise Him for all my likes.

The flu

If you need something to slow you down… Get the flu! (Or not)

Yes, I have the flu.

Yesterday, at the doctors office, I cried when he told me the test was positive.  I was crying for several reasons … From the painful gagging I experienced from the former strep test, my achy joints, pounding head and the fact that I actually have the flu.

I do admit my life seems like it’s in fast forward most of the time. I’m always doing something or thinking of something to do OR concocting a plan to do something.  I’m not sure I would feel right if I weren’t DOING something.

I know that we are supposed to slow down at times! So, why can’t I really do that?

I have found that the only place I can truly not do or think is at the lake in a lawn chair when we go camping.  One of those zero-gravity chairs is the best.  Weird, huh?

But this time, I’m not camping. I just have the flu. It’s impossible to do anything really except drink liquids and get dizzy as I make my way to the bathroom.  And thinking… Well, writing this blog is the most thinking I’ve done in the last 24 hours or so.

I do suggest slowing down at times, but I do not suggest

the flu.

Do you ever just look at a situation or end up smack dab in the middle of one where your mind eventually settles on that word:

I’ve found myself in a couple of these situations within the past few weeks.

My reflecting back on those ridiculous moments makes me remember that the aggravation that welled up in my body was just about as ridiculous as the actual thing that caused my blood pressure to rise a bit.

Thinking back on them now, I giggle.  I really giggle.  Like LOL even.  I’m not laughing at the person who caused it really…just the attitude they had in making the moment crazy.  I forgive their ridiculousness.  I really think I’m good at that kind of forgiveness.  I just wish I could dish out forgiveness much quicker than I do at times.  My husband says I hold on to it for too long, but of course, that is when he is involved.

As a teacher, I would wear myself out if I held on to a grudge against one of my students.  Not that I have a ton of unruly students in my classroom, but if I had held on to a bad feeling I had toward their behavior from over the years, I would have a huge black spot in my soul!  (this is my 21st year to teach!)

Ok, I know I’m babbling.  I haven’t really blogged a good one in a while.  I’m just thinking about this word RIDICULOUS and these situations I’ve come up against.

I pray that I don’t make things get that way in my daily walk.  I believe that a ridiculous moment can hurt one’s story/testimony.  It can make you look unqualified in the “smarts” dept.  It can sometimes make you look downright OFF.  As one of my friends might say, “You are showing too much of your crazy.”   haha!
