It’s Alright

I’ve actually blogged about this song before.  My plan is to sing this tomorrow for my church.  It’s one of those songs that reminds me to not freak out, stress or go crazy about any situation, because it really is going to be OK.  Thank You Jesus!

We all have that person in our lives that says that to you.  You may have more than one person that does it for ya.  My biggest OK man was my dad.  He was my cheerleader.  He was the one I went to with any question at all.  When he answered me, it made perfect sense.  He could always comfort me.  He was a voice of reason.  He would just say, “It’s going to be ok.” and I was *thumbs up*!

This song reminds me that I still have people like that in my life.  God has put people in my life to remind me that no matter what, it’s going to be ok.  I can call or text my people in times of craziness and they are ready to give me a word, shoot me the perfect emoji or most better yet, send me a Bible verse and pray for me.

I take comfort most of all in God’s word.  God truly tells us in the Bible that it is going to be OK.  It is going to be ALRIGHT.  We win.  We overcome!  He sent His son to overcome so we can too.

I can go through times of sorrow, times of confusion, times that I want to hurt someone because they are crazy, times that anger me or cause me to doubt myself, BUT with God and His gift of mercy and grace,

IT’S ALRIGHT!

Intercessor

Intercessor: a person who intervenes on behalf of another, especially by prayer.

I heard this word used last night.  A sweet person told me she is an intercessor.  I’ve met intercessors before and I know what intercessory prayer is, but I had never really thought of those people that pray for us being called that specific word.  It is beautiful to me.

An intercessor stands up for us.  They call on God for us.  Wow.   That is just wow.

I mention a lady from our church many times who lived until she was 95 and was always praying.  She was a mighty intercessor!  I strive to be more like the example this wonderful lady was for me.  I thank God for putting Mrs. Pearson in my life to show me what a real God gal is.  She was amazing and lived her life for our Lord.

Once again, I thank God for putting other people in my path that are great examples.  This sweet lady that used this “intercessor” word is yet another one.   I met Mrs. Anne through a mutual friend and each time I’ve been blessed to see her, I have always felt the Spirit of God on her.  She amazes me with her prayer life.  She shares her miracle stories and makes me smile.  She is a blessing!  And an intercessor!

Oh God, please allow me to become more and more of an intercessor for those who need me to all on God for them.  And thank You again, Lord, for giving me examples of these type of people.  I am in awe of how You use Your people.  I praise You for that especially today!  Amen!

Bulletin

Our bulletin from church today means a lot to me. Maybe I’ll talk about it later, but really, it can stand alone with no explanation.

I believe ANYTHING is possible!

I believe that ANYTHING is possible.

I shake my head in disbelief at a lot of things.  I’m talking about shocking things like friends who one day decide you are not their friend, husbands (or wives) who decide their mate is just not who they love anymore and children who decide their parents have never really supported them.  I know life happens and people change their minds for all kinds of reasons, but sometimes, my mouth drops open and I’m like, “Whaaaaat?”

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

I’ve seen circumstances, events and people change on a dime and I never saw that coming!  It’s like some kind of CRAZY just entered and said, “Ok, I’m in charge now.”  AND THAT is exactly what happens …CRAZY walked in.  CRAZY took over.  CRAZY waltzed in all cocky like, sat down, kicked it’s feet up and settled in.

I’m talking about the CRAZY that makes us shake our heads, squint our eyes and scratch our noggin.  (again…”Whaaaat?”)

And CRAZY pops up like a weed in a sidewalk crack!  You are like WHERE did that come from and HOW is that growing out of cement?!?!?

That kind of crazy is like a fire that consumes the land.  It takes our breath away sometimes.  It makes us question ourselves.  It makes us DOUBT.  It makes us sad.  It makes us cry, scream, lament…

BUT LET’S FLIP THIS MESS…

Going back to my original statement: I believe ANYTHING is possible.

Crazy can be defeated.  God can give us all the tools we need to slay the crazy.  You can kick the crazy out of it’s easy chair, pull that weed up and throw it out!

ANYTHING is possible…

Relationships can be redeemed, love can grow again and we can move forward.  We can wipe our tears, restore our trust and move forward.

I know that sometimes crazy has made some kind of scar while it was visiting. Sometimes it might even cause us to remove something or someone from our lives that we never thought would have to go, but as I said, with GOD we can forgive, mend and move on.

We need to identify the crazy for what it is — it is the devil working.  Crazy chaos and insane drama is what he loves the most.  The nasty of this life is used by the devil to try and break us.  We must stand up and stand out and stand on the word of God!  Rebuke the devil by the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST and defend yourself with the truths God has given us.

My life verse is NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER. -Isaiah 54:17

I hang on to that verse like a security blanket.  It comforts me when I whisper it. I’ve written it on my mirror, door jams, in permanent marker on my desk at work and is visible all around my daily life, because I know WITH GOD…

I believe ANYTHING is possible.

That pencil.

God provides us with so many things… He provides us with so many things we take for granted.  We are blessed. It’s a given we don’t think about as much as we should.

A friend recently told me about how God gave her a pencil. This might seem kind of silly to some, but God provides for us all the time and in this instance, it was something as simple (yet huge) as a pencil.

Here’s part of her text:

Just got back from walking. As I was walking I was studying my notes that I am using today to speak… God gave me something to say in the notes but I had no pen. I said “God I need you to give me a pen to write that with.” I kept walking and was going to take the shortcut home so I could write it down and not forget. Then I stopped and turned around. Everything in my spirit said “don’t take the shortcut.” I obeyed. As I was walking there was a sharpened pencil on the side of the road. I would have missed it if I’d taken the shortcut!!!! Thank you Lord!!!! This has happened to me before and he provided a writing pen in road.

My response:

Again… HE BLESSES YOU!!! Can I write a blog about that story?

What do you need? Have you asked Him for it?  Is it something huge and you are thinking there’s no way it will ever be your blessing?  Maybe you’re thinking a pencil is not a very big item and why would God provide me with something more than that?

God can! Keep praying. Keep your focus on Him. Perhaps your exact request will be granted … Or better yet, God will bless you with exactly what He knows you need!

I pray for this specifically and praise and thank Him for that pencil.

10,000 steps

Where would 10,000 steps take you?

10,000 steps is my daily step goal.

That seems like a big number, but it’s only around 5 miles.  I have short little legs so it’s prob closer to 4 than it is 5.  Either way, that 10,000 number seems big until you convert it. I mean, look at all those zeros!

Even so, where can we go in four miles. Four miles is nothing to really scoff at for a short legged walker like me. For a walker of any type I would think it’s not a bad trek. For a runner I guess it is not real far.  For a driver, it’s nothing, especially if you live in a big city and commute many times that number to work.

So back to my question… Where can 10,000 steps take you?

At work, It takes me to the office and back about 100 times a day.

Really though, that’s not my goal or my point here…

We need to be taking steps for Jesus.

I wonder how many steps he took in his lifetime?  How many did he take on that road to the cross? I know, I know, I won’t really be worrying about those numbers when I get to actually see Jesus one day but for now, I can wonder.  I can!

Let’s take our steps with intent.  Let’s take our steps with a mission in mind.  I know leisurely strolls are nice or walking around the house in the evening to get to that step goal of the day is necessary sometimes like it was for me tonight.  I had 150 to go so I swept the house a few times before I got my PJs on. Ha!

Let’s put one foot in front of the other, moving forward to the goal while we work to get all those we can to walk with us!  Jesus did Easter so we could walk freely with the dwelling of the Holy Spirit.  AND so we can be in paradise one day. (AMEN!)  Let’s use those 10,000 steps to help others see Him.

Help others. Put others first. Love one another. Show people you love you love them. Show people who are hard to love LOVE ANYWAY.  Step out and step boldly for the cause of Jesus Christ, because in the end, the amount of miles you made aren’t really going to matter…it’s the direction you were going with each step you take.

Where are your 10,000 next steps going to take you?

RADICAL?

Are you over the top about something?

Do you consider yourself obsessed with a habit or tradition?

Do you call yourself a radical at all?

A lot of us, in fact, MOST of us would never use the word radical when describing ourselves.  Radical is one of those words used for bad stuff.  Radical people are way over the top, beyond the point of turning back on some issue and/or what we believe to be just totally crazy.

Within the last month or so I had a friend of mine compare my religion with another religion and say something like this…a Radical Muslim is basically the same as a Radical Christian.  They believe intensely about their religion.

Hmmmm… I am scratching my head even now thinking about this.  Really?

I’m not going to expound on the Muslim side of this.  I am pretty sure we all know what a Radical Muslim is most about.  Even those (and especially those) of you who are reading this that are perhaps Muslim, know what a “Radical Muslim” stands for.

Go Google it if you aren’t completely sure.

A Radical Christian, on the other hand, is nothing like that of a Radical Muslim.  A Christian who is sold out, over the top, crazy about Jesus is Radical about one main thing.  This ONE main thing is LOVE.  A person who is truly a Radical Christian is all-in for Jesus’s message which is only of love.  Jesus came to wipe away our sins.  He came to save us–all of us!  He came for those needing Him which is everyone.  He came in love, to sacrifice His very life for others.

That is what we are all to emulate, match, copy, imitate…

THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST.  Did he only love His family and His friends?  Naw.  Did He only love the rich people and those in power.  Not at all!  He loved all… even those trying to find wrong in Him–He wanted them to repent.  He wants all to repent and be saved.  He’s RADICAL about it even!  How much more radical can you get by hanging on a cross and becoming a sacrifice for our sins?!?  Seriously?

I know being a “Radical Christian” is most all the time frowned upon by this society as a whole. Being a RADICAL anything is looked at as a negative.  I say, trying our hardest to be as Radical as a Christian we can be…ONLY MEANS to show as much love to all others as much as we possibly can–ALL the time, no matter what we are doing, or where we are.  Will we ever actually be able to call ourselves RADICAL CHRISTIANS?  (I sure wish I could wear that title all the time!)

I do know this for sure though…

A Radical Christian is absolutely nothing like a Radical Muslim.

Don’t believe me?  Research it.
