Don’t stop!

Don’t stop…

LEARNING!

I like this quote:

Don’t act like you know it all…

You don’t.

Don’t put down others because you think they know less than you…

Someone could do that exact same thing to you.

Don’t stop learning.

That is all.

TEACHERS, PLEASE WATCH THIS! (ok, EVERYONE watch this!)

All teachers should watch this video.  There are so many points to it that are INSPIRING and they push me to be a better teacher.

After tweeting this out, I had a great awesome friend send this:

LOVE that Ted talk “you matter”… Not just for teachers!
She is absolutely RIGHT!  This is not just for teachers.  This is for HUMANITY!  We should all let others know that they matter, believe in ourselves that we matter and CONNECT with each other by networking, building a team and solving problems TOGETHER.

I LOVE TO LEARN! (have I said that before?)

This summer I was introduced to a SUMMER LEARNING CHALLENGE which has been put together by Todd Nesloney.  This dude is definitely a LIFE LONG LEARNER and I bet he’s a great principal!

We are in the 8th week challenge.  I’ve enjoyed learning some great stuff!  This week is really cool with the Google drive and docs.  I’m about to do the letter to my future students.  I’m not sure how that is going to go.  We will see.

If you have time and feel like LEARNING, go check out this blog which includes all the challenges thus far.  I do love going back to work in August, but I do love my summer too!  Two great things about teaching!   I will hate to see summer go this year and hate for our challenges on this blog to end, but I KNOW I will find new challenges as the new school year begins.  YAY!  I LOVE TO LEARN!

You can go to twitter and #SummerLS to read all kinds of tweets about what we’ve learned this summer.

Excitement sharpens Excitement!

Just recently, I was so honored to serve on staff at a TEXAS Association of Student Councils Summer Leadership Workshop. We were at SFA there in Nacogdoches and I was the Advisors Consultant. It was such a fun time, because not only was I able to share at our advisor sessions, but I learned so much from the other advisors, got to see my super student council friends and met so many new fun and interesting people. Connections are so important and they truly do energize you!

Check this out:
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭27‬:‭17‬ NLT)
Excitement sharpens excitement!

I came home excited about so many things. I have new ideas, a new outlook on some old projects and a renewed attitude toward this vocation and calling I know GOD has blessed me with. Charging your batteries is something we must all take time to do and this workshop did just that for me!

This workshop also reminded me that being a life long learner helps keep that excitement as well. It also helps keep ya feeling young! It might even hold those wrinkles and grey hair back. (Lotion and hair dye helps a little too…hehe) So, keep learning!

If you stop learning, you will forget what you already know. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭19‬:‭27‬ CEV)
I don’t want to forget what I know!!!

Make connections.
Keep learning.
Stay excited…
Excitement sharpens excitement!!!

Thank you TASC for this workshop opportunity and thank you to all those who attended those fun, learning-full, EXCITING advisor sessions!!!

LEARN SOMETHING NEW TODAY!

Learning is one of my top favorite things to do.
I’d like to encourage you to LEARN today. LEARN SOMETHING NEW!
Think of something you want to know about, how to do or create. Research it. Look it up. Find someone on Twitter who can help you out. Search blogs. Go to Pinterest OR this new website I got turned on to today:
http://www.instructables.com
There are so many things on this website you can create. I found out about this place through a summer learning series I’m going through.
Here’s the blog that talks all about it:
WE ARE ALL MAKERS!
When I learn something new, it makes me want to learn even more. I know some people think they are done learning–finished. Perhaps they think they know it all. OR they just think they know enough. I sure hope I never get that way! I believe I love teaching so much, because learning is so exciting to me. I want my students to feel the same way!
Try it…
GO LEARN SOMETHING NEW TODAY!
