THE FOURTH

From http://www.history.com: July 4th has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution (1775-83).

To me, the fourth of July is a day where we remember that WE ARE AMERICA!  We take this day to celebrate the freedoms we have like just coming together and being with our family and friends.

It’s also the day that marks the middle of the summer.  For my children, they know that when this day is over, we are on the down hill slope headed right toward the new school year.  This excites me!  I love the summer just as all do, but I love teaching just as much.  I’m so blessed to be able to do the things I do and experience the things our family does together and we couldn’t do it without The Fourth.

I take today–JULY 4TH–as a day of celebration and remembrance. Without this day in history–we would not be able to thank our founding fathers who signed that declaration and the years and years of heroes who have protected us and continue to do so  We are so fortunate to have the numerous freedoms and liberties we receive by just being in America and we are ESPECIALLY FORTUNATE to have the blessings God continues to bestow on us as Americans.
