We are ALL gifted!

Today at our awards assembly, so many of our students were recognized.  It makes me so proud to see them all excel in one way or another.

I wish we could give them all an award–

NO, I’m not like one of those people who think everyone should get a 1st place trophy for just participating (besides t-ball, they should always get a trophy!)  OR everyone should be the quarterback because they THINK that is their talent.  I’m saying, I wish we could give every child in our school an award for doing something awesome.  They all have an awesome ability.  WE ALL have an awesome ability.

We have students who are… the best encouragers (and I’m not talking about the uniformed cheerleaders),  have the best penmanship, always ready to help out when needed, the best at turning in their work on time, smile, laugh, story-tellers (fiction or non-fiction!), posture, serious faces, funny voices…

I think you get what I’m saying.  WE ALL HAVE OUR *SOMETHING* THAT MAKES US …US!

Most of us have A LOT of somethings that make us …US!

We are all gifted with some talent/ability/awesomeness that makes us who we are.

WE ARE ALL GIFTED!

(sooooooo blessed!)

Anything you can do, I can do BETTER!

Have you ever had THAT ONE PERSON  in your life that just continuously one-ups you?  I mean, they don’t REALLY one-up you most the time, but they like to think they do.  They say things like “I could do that better, while sleeping.” or “I make the perfect boiled egg and your just jealous that you can’t.”  How ridiculous these statements are, right?  Those are ACTUAL ones I’ve heard pretty recently.  The people behind those statements just make me laugh.  I guess laughter is definitely how I deal with just about any situation.

I’m not certain why people find these kind of statements necessary.  I’m not sure why they have to prove they are better in every situation they are in.  I’m so glad I don’t wear myself out doing that.  I mean, I do know I’m pretty good at some things.  I have talents God gave me and I’m very aware that I have these abilities, but I’m also aware of the fact that no one likes a bragger.  You can be good at something and confident in your ability AND STILL be humble about it.

That is it for today.  🙂
