YOU HAVE NO IDEA!

You seriously have NO CLUE about the potential one person has.  You don’t know.  YOU HAVE NO IDEA!

You may have a theory or a thought.  You might think you understand what the person is capable of…  You know there are those around you that you may think of as lazy or incapable.  But really…YOU HAVE NO IDEA!

EVERYONE brings something.  EVERYONE has a talent…a strength.  EVERYONE has an ability that they do much better than the people around them.  God put them there for that.

It’s just like Esther.  She was created for a purpose bigger than she could ever imagine.  In the verses below, it says, “for such a time as this,” which always reminds me that TODAY COULD BE THE DAY that God really needs me to stand somewhere, do something or share a word or two to further HIS kingdom.

“For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

-Ester 4:14

We have no idea how God is using other people.  Most of the time, we have no idea how He is using us–how could we even begin to know about someone else.  WE HAVE NO IDEA!

Don’t discount others.  Don’t think people as worthless even though their actions may make our opinions point directly to that.  Let’s remember that God put us here with specific talents, abilities and strengths. (for a time such as this)  We need to be mindful of those.  We need to ask God directly what they are occasionally.  Be in tune more with what YOU have to offer and don’t concern yourself with what others SHOULD be doing.  Pray for them.  They may need prayers to help them find their calling.  God will take care of the rest, because remember:

YOU HAVE NO IDEA!

All is not lost…

I used this below during the recent NHS induction on our campus.  I just felt like blogging it.

I feel all is NOT lost on our campus.  I hope it’s the same for your workplace.

Character defines much of who we are, how we think, why we act, and what we say or do.  Character is what distinguishes one person from another. Those with good character demonstrate things such as respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, caring and citizenship.

Our character is shown by what we do when no one else is around.  It gives us a sense of right and wrong.  It gives us understanding that right is right, even if others are against it, and that wrong is wrong, even if others are for it.

Good character is shown when we choose to do what is right.

AND–A person’s true character shows who he or she is through words and actions.

Character is the trait that is at the core of the other three traits that have been identified – it is the backbone of service, leadership, and scholarship.

Some say knowledge is power, but power truly lies in one’s character.

The power in an individual is contained within their character.

Billy Graham, one of the most well-known evangelists of our time said, “When character is lost, ALL is lost.”

How’s your heart?

20121202-190043.jpg

As in water face reflects face,
so the heart of man reflects the man.
Prov. 27: 19

How’s your heart? Are you a servant to others? Do you spew hate all around or is your heart full of love for mankind? Your heart is reflected and projected to others. Your actions show your heart.

And we are supposed to love through ACTIONS and truth:

My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. (I John 3:18 NKJV)

This time of the year brings many opportunities for us all to give to, and serve others. To do so should make your heart happy and keep it full of love. I did not say pride–do not become prideful and boast of the things you do for others. Give praise and glory to God, because only through Him are we all able to do the things we do–and when others see you do good things, may HE be praised!

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 NKJV)

So, how’s your heart?
