Words we should hear AND SAY more often…

I love you, You are awesome, you are great, thank you, please, excuse me, I was wrong, may I have this dance….

There are so many words that are nice to hear.  I love it when someone says, “You smell good.”  BUT OUT OF ALL THE WORDS IN THIS WORLD, I truly believe, we don’t express ourselves enough when it comes to these…

I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!

I know some of the phrases I listed above kind of say or mean the same thing, but don’t beat around the bush…say it like you mean it, with intent and mean exactly what you say:

I AM PROUD OF YOU.

I heard these words earlier in the week from my 2nd grade teacher.  She had me in class YEARS AGO (I’ve actually counted them…), but even though she hasn’t been in my daily life for many years, those words coming from her beautiful little self made my heart smile so!  I’ve thought about those words all week.  She made me feel more accomplished with that little sentence than any plaque or trophy ever could.

We NEED those words.

We need to say those words… not just think of them.

I have let those words go across the marquee of my mind so many times and not uttered them.  Why?  I’m not sure at all, but I make it my vow to voice them when I think them from now on.  I want to bless others as Mrs. Lattimore did me.  She may never know how awesome she made me feel, but I will pass that feeling forward.

I encourage you to do it too!  Tell those that you are proud of…

Say it audibly, clearly and intently, OUT-LOUD,

“I AM PROUD OF YOU.”

THE STING!

Our preacher used the story below in his EASTER sermon.  I think this is such a great analogy of how GOD protected and SAVED us by sending JESUS.  Thank you Lord for JESUS!

Once a boy and his father were driving along the road when a bee flew in the window. The boy got very upset when he saw the bee buzzing around his head and he began throwing his arms around madly, because he was allergic to bee stings! The boy was very frightened of the bee. The father quickly grabbed the bee!  He held it for a bit and then let it go again.

The bee began to buzz around again and the boy was again frightened.  The father told his son, “It is OK, you are all right.” Then he opened his hand to show the boy the stinger was stuck in his palm.  His father had allowed the bee to sting him. He had taken the sting and had taken the danger out of the bee.

Jesus Christ did the exact same thing for us!  He let death “sting” Him instead of us.  He did this so we could live forever and never die.  He took the danger out of death.  We can know that once we die, we can be with our Father in Heavan.  HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!!! (not a question, a exclamation!)

The Bible tells us about that “sting” being taken out of death by Jesus Christ:

“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of
death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God,
which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
(I Corinthians 15:55-57)

I love how God did that for us.  He is just like a father who would take a sting for his child.  He did that for us!

What an amazing gift we have in EASTER!

Again, thank YOU LORD for JESUS!

LOVE YOURSELF

This weekend I was blessed with some awesome words:

Do not say ANYTHING about yourself that GOD HIMSELF wouldn’t agree with.

An awesome lady named Gwyn shared that.  She came to the realization one day that this is important.  I SO AGREE!

Then, I was listening to a preacher named Joel Osteen…  (Side note: I know a lot of people think he’s just a feel good preacher and they don’t think he speaks truth or uses the Bible or even points people to Jesus… EVERYONE has their opinion.  I have mine too and mine is based on actually listening to several of his podcasts/sermons where he DOES talk about being positive, quotes and uses the BIBLE, asks and leads people to accept JESUS and speaks on how our lives should be lived through Jesus Christ.  Just putting that out there.)  One of his facebook posts keeps coming to me which is:

Proverbs 6:2, says, “You are snared with the words of your mouth.” Snared means to be trapped. Your words can trip you, what you say can cause you to stumble, and it can keep you from your potential. Don’t set the limits for your life with your words.

THIS KEEPS COMING TO MY MIND. OUR WORDS MATTER! Even when you are speaking to yourself.  ‪#‎truth‬

I just posted that on MY facebook.

I tell my students this all the time.  I encourage them to be content and happy with what they look like and who they are.  I do my best to boost their everyday self concept and confidence.  But when it comes to me…

I don’t always talk nice to myself.  I should.  Why shouldn’t I?  I’m a pretty sweet person to other people, why not to myself?  I am usually a pretty confident person, but for some reason, sometimes, I talk ugly to myself.  WHAT!?!   I have already confirmed in earlier blogs that I AM A SUCCESS.  I have an awesome family, great friends and soooooo many other blessings.  I cannot list them all!  Why should I ever call myself or refer to myself as anything but awesome?  God made me.  God loves me.  God wants me to love me, because HE DID A GREAT JOB ON ME!  There is no reason why I should think or say otherwise.

I AM A SUCCESS!

Because I’m overweight…am I supposed to feel INADEQUATE?  ..am I supposed to feel incapable?  ..am I supposed to feel unloved? ..am I supposed to feel not-good-enough? …am I UNSUCCESSFUL?

NO NO NO NO and NO!!!

Yes, I’m overweight.  I’m not the “perfect” size.  I do not wear bikinis.  HAHA!  Never have, never will.  I do not run.  Another HAHA!

I may not be able to outrun someone, but I can do so much that others don’t do, want to do or have the talent to do.

Society may look at me and think, “Wow, she probably eats a lot of donuts.”  When in actuality, I HATE DONUTS.  Ice cream is not something I long for.  I don’t really like pie.  Chocolate, yes, but …

OK, WHAT I’M SAYING IS:  Society does not KNOW me.  They don’t know my likes, dislikes, talents, struggles, victories, etc.  I do not care what SOCIETY thinks.  They can put me in this group of sad people which need to be “fixed” or guided.  Still, they do not know me. Whatever label, group or stereotype I get associated with… It does not define who I am.

I am a strong, smart, beautiful and very much talented person.  I encourage and help others.  I have a great smile!  I keep a positive attitude that I believe this world needs more of.  I get whatever job needs to be done–done.  I shine the light of Jesus, because He is in my heart!  I am NOT UNSUCCESSFUL.

The scales don’t own me.  The number of pounds my body is does not dictate my life.  The fact that I don’t run does not mean I can’t be a winner.  I can and will do things that are extraordinary and awesome.  I will be victorious and overcome things in this life.  The fact that I don’t lose one pound doing it has NO BEARING ON MY ABILITY TO SUCCEED.

MY Success is not measured by society even though society may think it does.  Success is what I believe it to be in my life.

Here are the top reasons why I KNOW I’m successful—

JESUS LOVES ME and I LOVE JESUS!  So glad I succeeded in asking HIM into my heart.  …SUCCESS!

I have read the ENTIRE BIBLE…SUCCESSSSSSSSSS!!!

I am a pretty good mom, wife and teacher…SUCCESS!  (I have papers to prove it which include personal reference letters, anniversary cards and a few teachery awards from various individuals and groups)

I have friends who love me.  (again, papers, emails, text messages and memories to prove it)…SUCCESS!

I’m happy.  …SUCCESS!

and guess what…

I walked 40 minutes on the treadmill this morning and quite briskly, might I add.   I didn’t run, but to me, I was a success on that mill!  I find my success in all kinds of places.  Perhaps losing weight may be one of those someday.  I have found it in the past and may in the future, but no matter what… it is not the only thing that defines my success.

I AM A SUCCESS!

–and YOU ARE TOO!  Find your successes…do not dwell on your failures.  God will guide you in finding them when you need help looking.  Do it!  FOCUS ON THE GOOD, always.

I love Mickey!

Why does the sight of that crazy little mouse that was sketched out by Walt Disney so many years ago make my face smile before I even think about it?

I see those ears and just think JOY!

Some people see $$$ and think of the amount of money it takes to go to a Disney Park.  I know it takes a chunk of change, but when our family went there a couple of years ago, it truly was MAGICAL.

I feel like Mickey is my friend.  I KNOW HIM!  I mean, he hugged me!  I was at his “house” there in Orlando and he introduced me to so many of his fellow Disney family members.  That makes us tight, right?

Well, either way, that is the way I feel about it.

The fact that he is so ALIVE NOW  …and he just started as pencil and paper is amazing to me.  It’s like every artist’s dream…to have their creation touch others positively.   Walt Disney started something that, I’m sure, he didn’t realize would be this big.  I’m certain he knew it would be great, but really…ALL THIS!?!   His vision and creativity ended up being the sparks that built this enormous fire of awesomeness!

I love the awe in eyes of all ages when they see THE MOUSE …or other characters.

AND even though I know there is a person in that mouse outfit…

I love Mickey!

p.s. I wanna go back to Disney World.  Just sayin.

HE knows my name…

This song is so meaningful to me…  it makes me feel so loved and helps me REMEMBER what is important especially on days when I don’t feel real appreciated.  I DON’T NEED TO BE APPRECIATED…All I need is God –who calls me chosen, forgiven, treasured…  He is what I’m doing, whatever I’m doing, for–not for applause or my name in lights…

This video is a LIVE recording.  I usually don’t like live recordings so much, but this one is just so sweet and beautiful.

Have a listen:

HELP OTHERS

I have watched this video so many times.  It such a heartwarming story of a guy who thinks of others first.  From a plant to a sweet little girl and all in between… He is NOT selfish.  He is NOT self-centered.  He is a servant.  He is blessed.

I want to help others.  I want others needs to come before mine.  I am blessed…I want to bless others.

Please watch the video.
