THE GOOD.

What an awesome day.
A day of relationships.
A day of projects.
A day of giving.
A day of service.

Good intentions when put in action are so sweet to watch.
Little acts of service can turn into big mounds of wonderful.
Small gestures of kindness when added up can start a movement.

I hope that whatever you did today, it benefited someone else. Perhaps it helped others see that we are here to not just live, but to love and serve.

The group I was with today made my heart smile. They made me have hope in others. They made me proud to know them.

The group we visited made me remember that it’s not about me. They helped focus my perspective. They truly blessed me.

If you weren’t able to do some type of service today that lifted others up, I encourage you to take time to do it soon. It’s not for your own glory or for points you may receive …

It’s for THE GOOD and that is what we should all turn and focus on more…

THE GOOD.

My definition of WORSHIP

After listening to the preacher’s sermon today, I started thinking about WORSHIP.  Everyone has their idea of worship.  What does worship mean to you?

My definition of worship:

LIVE IT…

LIVE YOUR LIFE FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!

That to me is true worship.  Worship is not something you stop.  It should be something that you are constantly doing.  When I think of my God, I believe worship is love and love is worship.

We do not stop loving our children.  God does not stop loving us.  We should not stop loving him.  It should be CONSTANT.

I know we are to get on our knees and go to the Lord in prayer daily.  We are to tell others what He has done for us.  Blessings are to be counted.  Be still and know…and listen to God.  Read the Bible.  Study together with other believers.  Feed yourself with the knowledge God reveals to you through others such as teachers and preachers.  Most of us consider all of these acts of worship.  I believe they are, but  you know we are not doing all of these things all of the time.  So, to worship is more than all of these.  It’s something you don’t turn off.   If you consider GOD first in all you do, worship will continue.  And that is what we are supposed to do, right?

I’m not saying I’ve always felt this way.  I thought going to church was what I needed to do to be a believer.  I thought memorizing a few Bible verses is what I needed to do to be a believer.  I thought being nice to others, being on my best behavior and carrying a Bible in my purse is what I needed to do as a believer.

All of those things are great, but to truly worship God, He has told me so much through the Bible.

…we need to take further steps…we have to do it as the Bible says—

JESUS SAID:

You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.                        -Matthew 22:37

If we can do that,

we can WORSHIP like we are supposed to…ALL ..THE.. TIME.

Simple

As the tree came down today and the vacuum was on double duty, I got all caught up in the transformation of our living room. I love all the festive traditions. The tree, the lights, my Santa and snowman corners and especially the nativity scenes we have by the fireplace. Packing it up for another year was a chore, but also a blessing. I thank God for all the things He allows us to use. I thank Him for our spot. I am so thankful for the reminders I have everyday–not just at Christmas–but EVERYDAY that He loves us so very much.
As I sit here with my peppermint mocha coffee and my new historic television book I found today, listening to a college football game and the fire crackling… I especially thank God for the simple pleasures he affords us.
Our lives are such blessings!!!
From crazy fun family celebrations to sitting on my couch relaxing…
During this holiday break…
I thank Him for ALL.

Bless, encourage, help and LOVE.

What do you with your time?

Are you out to bless?

OR out to curse?

Are you out for others or only out for the benefit of yourself?

I ask myself this.  I have to adjust my thinking sometimes. I have to reconnect with reality and remember why we are put here.  God put us here to bless, live for others and share what we know about HIM.

I attended a SPARKLE Dinner tonight which is an event that my friend Tammy Whitehurst organizes.  She has this mission to help and encourage those who struggle.  She is such a blessing, because she knows what we are to do with our time.

The main focus with these dinners she puts together are to lift up those battling cancer.

As the speaker, Nathan Mathias, said tonight though–we all may not have CANCER, but we all have some type of struggle.

It could be anything.  We all struggle.  Everyone around you struggles with SOMETHING.

Nathan struggled with cancer with several months.  After battling, he is now cancer free.  This is not only awesome for him, but also his family and the numerous prayer warriors that feel the absolute victory with him.  It is a blessing when someone is cured and you see that they give all the glory to GOD.  Nathan truly lives out James 1:2–

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

He counts his struggles to all be JOY in our Lord.

And read on in verse 3…

because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Nathan will persevere, because he has been through the trials.  We all go through our trials, but Nathan faced his with GOD at all times.  We all need to remember this.

Nathan is going to use his story to help others.  He is going to use the strength he received through Jesus to encourage others to do the same.  He know what to do with his time.

Another man, Steve Denfeld, spoke tonight about his mission…to LOVE others.  He is a fireman that heads up the Pink Heals of Gregg County.  (please go check out thier page)  I was moved by the emotion he showed as he talked about just being able to show love for those in need.  He talked about how this organization is all about LOVE and not just about a cause.  They look at people in need and just love on them.  It was so great to hear about this organization.  This guy really knows what to do with his time.  LOVE!

I pray that I always do what I’m supposed to do with my time.

Bless, encourage, help and LOVE.

WANNA ART Workshop

I love my job. I love it today more than I loved it last year, ten years ago and so on. I’ve always loved it. My love for it just grows as I’m blessed through this vocation, I know, I was called to do. I continue to receive confirmation from God over and over again that this is what He made me to do. I thank Him over and over for it, as I do my many blessings.

I had so much fun with a room full of ladies today at the WANNA ART Workshop. It was a great time of food, fellowship, sharing and learning. I’m so glad my school distinct allows me to
host things like this.

Making connections like I did today makes me excited. It’s just like the blog I wrote about a couple of weeks ago about “Excitement sharpens excitement. It surely does!

Here’s a few pics from the day:

Geni

Geni is my blog subject today.  This chick is one of those people that you love to be around.  She is funny and happy and REAL and SHE LOVES JESUS!

She has stories that crack you up and stories that make you think.  The relationships she has with people in her life like the love/hate one between her and her brother will make you seriously LOL.  I love to just hang out with her and LAUGH.

Geni is my c0-teacher for our youth class at church.  We GET TO lead youth in the pursuit to know God, love God and serve God. It’s an amazing mission we get to do!

God sent Geni to me!  He seriously did.  I prayed for a renewal in spirit and for support that I knew only HE could give me when it came to teaching/directing the youth.  I wasn’t sure what I was praying for, but when Geni said she wanted to help with youth…I KNEW SHE WAS THE ONE GOD WAS SENDING TO ME!  Prayer is power!!! (That deserves THREE EXCLAMATIONS!) Serious.  It is.  God gives us so many things in this life and when those things include people in our paths that bless us so—I just want to tell everyone!

Some people do not look at others like this.  Some look at circumstances as coincidences or at encounters as just something that happens.  That is so untrue.  God knows who you need when you need them.  It’s our job to accept our divine appointments as such and PRAISE HIM!

So, I praise God for Geni today.  She has been a major blessing to me and I know to the students in our youth class.  I’m so blessed to call her my friend.

This is our totally un-digitally edited picture below.  Hehe!  We are naturally glowing, because JESUS has got a hold of our hearts!  Amen!

Thanks Geni for being my partner in crime, comrade in arms, teammate in our youth cohort and super awesome amazing friend!

SUPER PROUD and EXHAUSTED

The student council I advise ran for a state office and the last three days have been hectic, insane, chaotic, interestingly fun and AWESOME all rolled up into one huge STU.CO.TASTIC trip!

I’ve had students amaze me and make me crazy and make me PROUD.

We didn’t win the office at state, but all my students are WINNERS! …they did a great job and deserve to be proud.  I am proud of all of ’em and can’t wait to see all the future greatness that comes out of this bunch!  They worked so hard at doing so many projects this year that help CRUSH CANCER which is something I am on a continuous mission to do (among many other things, of course).  I could list all the projects they created and completed, but I’d be typing my fingers off.   I just hope all this stu.co. stuffbgave them life long lessons that support them through anything they come up against in their SOON TO COME adult life.  (man, I’m going to miss this year’s seniors as I do so many of my past ones!)

I’m one SUPER DUPER BLESSED Stu.Co. Advisor. —and I’m exhausted!  HA!  No, really.
