When people ask you how you made it through a situation, created something awesome or how you accomplished some great feat…
Why do they NOT believe you when you answer them with “Prayer.”
God allows me to create great art. He guides me to do wonderful things. HE gives me the strength to finish tasks that there is no way in this world I could ever do alone.
Maybe you think you are sooooooo awesome and can do everything on your own, but me, I know GOD is my strength. HE is the one that makes me awesome. I cannot be awesome on my own! He is my POWER. HE is always there for whatever I need. He is who provides me with my positive attitude. He takes care of my family.
It’s not “luck.” It’s not coincidence. IT’S GOD!!!
PRAYER is how I constantly converse with my God. Prayer is how I talk with Him and praise Him privately (or outwardly). Prayer with my real God comforts me and diminishes my fears. Prayer is HOW I DO IT. I am in communication with God who allows me to …
make it through a situation, create something awesome or accomplish some great feat.
I’m serious. It’s true. It is PRAYER.
Thank You, Lord, for allowing us to go straight to YOU!
So I spent a few hours in my shop today and made a ton of fun stuff.
I painted, drew, mod podged, hot-glued and duct taped.
I love creating things.
I’m going to add some photos of today’s products of ARTING…
These are DUCT TAPE creations. Keychains, tin cans I covered and embellished, a magnetic photo frame I made out of the side of a cereal box, then some other frames I created from recycled stuff–cd case and a little plastic box that paper clips came in.
This is probably my favorite art to do…PAINTING on wood or whatever I can find. I love to illustrate quotes and sayings to be hung.
This is a little new idea I did. I found something like it on Pinterest. I actually just started putting things together. It actually looks better in person than it does in this pic. A cute way to keep an kind of small office supply.
This bag, I believe, is the CUTEST thing I made today. I created it using a canvas block to add to the front (attaching it with fabric glue) and then adding felt and buttons with very high temp hot glue (didn’t burn myself this time!) and then the owl is done with acrylic paint with HUGE bling eyes to go along with the Socrates quote: WISDOM BEGINS IN WONDER.
My whole theme today was quite eclectic; therefore, not really having a theme at all. I just gathered the stuff I had and started putting it together. What a FUN DAY!!!
I LOVE ARTING!
I DID! I DID!
Breaks are needed. We are so blessed to be able to take breaks. Life gets crazy and busy and sometimes we let it stress us out. Breaks are ESSENTIAL. It’s our Spring Break this week. The first couple of days have been great! I’ve taken a nap, watched my kids have fun, created some interesting art, listened to music, studied, worshiped, praised and just been UNstressED. It’s been great! I want to make sure I say, I do love my job and will miss my students and friends over the week AND I do enjoy the routine that comes along with our life–but sometimes—WE NEED A BREAK. We need a good ole SPRING BREAK. Whether you are able to take an actual Spring Break like schools across our nation do or not–it’s important for a break. Take time to stop life and use a few hours, days, even a week or so, to talk with God, just relax, create, and do things that make you happy. Breaks are needed. Breaks are ESSENTIAL!
Sometimes just creating anything helps comfort me. Not that I really needed comforting today, but I didn’t want to work on anything in the house or from school. Today, it was just me and some ductape. Here are my bobby pin bows. It was just mindless creation time where I didn’t have to really think about anything, but a little color coordination. I also did a little painting and some hot glue work. Just SIMPLY CREATING.
I’m just saying… IT HAS BEGUN.
I will play 2nd, 3rd, probably even 4th, 5th or 6th fiddle to a number of things in the few coming months. And the list begins with deer, but goes on with hogs, maybe ducks and turkey, and occassional (very unwanted) snake, hunting buddies, the stand, the gun, the lease, the drive to the lease, the hunting gear, the stuff you spray the gear with, the soap you use so you won’t give off your scent, the warmers, the camo, the …UG! I’m gonna stop here and just say “ETC.” My life as a hunter’s wife never really goes away, but these are the months where it hits me upside the head everyday. Most days it’s all good and the cooler whether and football season (yes, I like football) helps out some. The fact that I have more time to paint or make stuff helps a bit. But really, I do miss him when he’s gone.
I miss being first fiddle or whatever I am during the rest of the year. I miss being important. haha! IT HAS BEGUN!
