Why does the sight of that crazy little mouse that was sketched out by Walt Disney so many years ago make my face smile before I even think about it?
I see those ears and just think JOY!
Some people see $$$ and think of the amount of money it takes to go to a Disney Park. I know it takes a chunk of change, but when our family went there a couple of years ago, it truly was MAGICAL.
I feel like Mickey is my friend. I KNOW HIM! I mean, he hugged me! I was at his “house” there in Orlando and he introduced me to so many of his fellow Disney family members. That makes us tight, right?
Well, either way, that is the way I feel about it.
The fact that he is so ALIVE NOW …and he just started as pencil and paper is amazing to me. It’s like every artist’s dream…to have their creation touch others positively. Walt Disney started something that, I’m sure, he didn’t realize would be this big. I’m certain he knew it would be great, but really…ALL THIS!?! His vision and creativity ended up being the sparks that built this enormous fire of awesomeness!
I love the awe in eyes of all ages when they see THE MOUSE …or other characters.
AND even though I know there is a person in that mouse outfit…
I love Mickey!
p.s. I wanna go back to Disney World. Just sayin.
Most of my written blogs are healthy reflections mainly of a realization or reaction I have to the things about me.
Today will not be any different.
I would like to reflect on the year of ’13. It’s been a year full of blessings. Without going through every single one of the, because that would be a super long list, I just want to concentrate on a few.
Our first big blessing was when our second child asked Jesus into his heart. He has grown so much since that day as well which has been an amazing site to see. Our first child asked Jesus into her heart about 4 years ago. It makes me so happy to know that they are both looking to God. I pray that continues through all of the times ahead.
We were so fortunate to be able to go with our church on a mission trip. It was a trip where we met new people, but mostly where we were able to talk about what Jesus does for us–daily. I love being able to share Him no matter where we are. The mission helped both of my children immensely in their walk as well and I believe strengthened our family as a whole.
Disney. The trip to Disney we were able to go on was a trip of many firsts. From first plane rides to seeing the most magnificent fireworks display I’ve ever witnessed. As they say, it was magical! I know God allowed us to do this and I thank Him for giving us trips like these to enrich our lives. He blesses us with so much!
I was blessed personally with so many different things that, as I said before, I’d be here all night typing about them all. I believe the more I thank God for the blessings He pours on us, the more He rains them down. Blessed, blessed, SO BLESSED!
As this day comes to an end and the new day, new YEAR is rung in, I just want to keep praising God for allowing it all. No matter what 2014 has in store, I know that WITH GOD, it will be AMAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZING–with some extra ZING! He promises us that through Him, we will do good works! He’s got it all ready for us… I’m so excited!
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
Walt Disney was smart, interesting and curious man.
I’m curious about a lot of things, but most of the time I don’t ask people-face-to-face questions. I research. I go find articles, google it or search twitter for things. I like to answer my own questions. I know I should ask more questions and utilize people around me, but sometimes I see that as being “nosey” which is a not how I want to seem.
I was talking about this just today with the youth group at church. We were discussing how people are different and have different gifts and talents. My husband is a QUESTIONER–he’s an interrogator, he wants to know and he asks. It’s actually not just part of his character, he does this in his daily work. I just don’t think that way. I’m not saying it’s bad that he does, but I know saying he’s “nosey” is not a good way to describe it. So, the word that one of the youth helped me remember is INQUISITIVE–that is a nice and I believe more intelligent word to describe this ability. It’s not just an adjective, but a talent for some like my husband and I imagine for Walt Disney. I am almost certain he took his dreams and ideas and asked others questions, bounced off ideas and developed his great projects by being very inquisitive.
Curiosity is something we should all utilize in order to formulate our ideas and further our projects. Walt Disney was a great man with great ideas and a dream that has far surpassed what I believe even he expected. Just think about how the Disney DYNASTY started with just a small spark of curiosity that grew into more and more and MORE curiosity …
THEN BAM—IDEAS AND PROJECTS AND MORE IDEAS AND MORE RIDES AND SHOWS AND FUN AND MAGIC!!!
I am ready to go back to Disney World!
Today was full of monsters. We went to Hollywood Studios today where the group of Monsters University characters are one of the big attractions. My kids ended up dancing with the “FEARLEADERS” …
We def had a MONSTER of a great time.
Everyday is a big huge gift. (Or like in the pic, a big huge stack of enormous gifts!)
We are so blessed to be having our first day at Disney World, but no matter where we are, we always remember EVERYDAY is a blessing! Yay!!!
