((Extraordinary or superhuman –also, an exceptionally skillful or successful person.))

We love watching SUPER HERO SHOWS. This week, my kids and I watched The Avengers. I know, we are way behind on our movie watching. It’s an “old” movie now especially with IRON MAN 3 coming out just yesterday. Anyway, the movie had great effects and it was a neat story of good overcoming evil. We have a few favorite parts like any movie we watch together. One of the parts was when the Hulk took the evil guy pretty much by his feet and threw him around like a rag doll. It was a little comical and totally surreal, of course, but still one of the highlights of the movie. We like it, I believe, mostly because, it was a scene where the good (altho a huge green monster) Hulk was basically putting the bad guy in his place–literally. We love it when GOOD OVERCOMES EVIL!

Sometimes I wish there were no evil to overcome at all, but I know that no matter what, it’s inevitable. I do not claim to be a realist EVER, but deep down, I know what “real” is. We have real things that come on us. It may not be as crazy wicked and evil as some alien self-proclaimed god like in the movie we watched, but at times, it seems pretty close. We have things like disloyal friends, rebellious children, mean bosses, forks in the road, sickness, illness, and the list goes on and on. We are surrounded by gossips, murders and basic spawns of the devil himself. I’m just saying, we come up against evil all the time. The devil gets in and stirs his pot of nasty in our daily lives.

My post today is mostly a proclamation of how we can overcome evil much better if we have a SUPER HERO on our side. I’m not talking about the big green guy although if you could keep him from destroying your house, that would be pretty cool. I’m talking about the ONE TRUE SUPER HERO who no matter what happens, is there to win your battles. He’s there to calm you and give you the peace that surpasses any peace we will ever find in this world. He knows what you are going through whether it be small, medium, large or those -on occasion- SUPER SIZE moments of despair. HE ALWAYS HAS THE VICTORY! You cannot find true victories and keep victory in your possession without Him. Sure, you can feel happiness or peace to some extent, but without this SUPER HERO in your heart, you cannot feel it to it’s most largest and fullest extent. How can you know how true peace is? –ONLY with this SUPER HERO…

Yes, it is true, JESUS doesn’t have a cape on with a big S on the front of His chest. This picture probably doesn’t even represent Him in His true physical appearance. We all have our mental imagine of Him. I kind of picture Him as The Hulk with longer hair, not so green and definitely MUCH less angry. haha! You picture Him as you will…but KNOW FOR SURE, without this SUPER HERO–you will never OVERCOME this world!

STILL Good People!

Today I was reminded once again that there are so many GOOD PEOPLE in my life AND THEY TRULY out weigh the bad ones.  At times, we as the dumb humans we are, forget this.  It’s easy to forget it sometimes mainly because, the bad ones stick out more.  They are like the sore thumbs or the squeaky wheels.  They get more attention, because they whine louder.  UG!

I don’t want to pay attention to those who frown at me and make mean comments—I want the light shone on the ones who compliment me and make me feel deeply loved.  One loving person should cover 100 grumpy evil ones any day!  Why is it always the other way around?  They only want to steal your joy, because they don’t have any themselves.  Sad.

I am challenging myself to look more into the eyes of the true believers of goodness and hope. I want to laugh with my genuine friends.  I strive to keep company with wonderfully happy people who are only out to lift others up.  I hope that I can be that kind of person to others as well.

I thank God for today –where once again HE reminded me through ones he hand picked just for me– that there are STILL GOOD PEOPLE in this world.  (no matter what the news says, what the skeptics say…no matter how many bad people there are..)

I wish this world could do without the drama.

It is sad that it seems like in some people’s lives, IT is what makes their world go around instead of LOVE. They thrive on it. They continuously judge themselves against others and that is when jealousy comes in–THEN they start the drama by the evil remarks they spew that has spawned itself from judging and jealousy.

It’s truly sad. If we truly understand what the Bible says about such evilness, we know that judging yourself and others is a sin.

This sad sin is most prevalent, I believe, with middle school girls. That is exactly where my oldest is… In the sea of MS where drama develops itself among the jealous, mean and sad girls who think judging and talking about others will somehow make their lives complete. I try to guide and direct without lecturing or nagging, but most times I wish I could just lock her up until she’s 20 or so.

My only comfort and best defense AND absolute greatest tool to teach my child that drama is not worth the time it wastes in your brain is the Bible. I thank God for filling this book with His truth, His lessons and especially for His support in times like these.

Below are the verses I shared with my child and some of her friends today. I pray they understand it and see its example, hide it in their heart and take comfort from it.

Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you. God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor? (James 4:11, 12 NLT)

If only everyone no matter what age could remember this verse –this concept–THIS TRUTH–and do what it says–I might get my “wish” I mentioned at the beginning of this blog.
