I want to die like that!

This evening Bro. Glenn Dunaway talked about not getting comfortable. I did the same exact lesson in my youth class this morning. That excited me so! God does that all the time! We used some of the exact same verses! Think about how awesome that is. The Bible is HUGE!

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’ (‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭40‬ NLT)

We should not get so comfortable that we stop challenging ourselves and become stagnant. Don’t get complacent and end up not working for The Lord. Whenever you do something for someone in love, you are doing it for Jesus. We are His hands and feet. That is such a great calling, vocation and duty.

Another thing he said in his message tonight was that an older man once told him he had been a deacon when he was younger, but he had retired from the Lord. What!?! You don’t do that. I mean, I guess you CAN, but a Christian is to never “retire” from our Christian work here in this life. If that happens, then you are a “lukewarm” which is not a Christian–at all–according to the Bible.

So, because you are lukewarm–neither hot nor cold–I am about to spit you out of my mouth. -Rev. 3:16

I want to stay in the mouth!!! (I know, a weird visual, but you get me.)
I want to continue my work. I want to be, no matter what age I am, ON FIRE for The Lord. I want people to look at me and ask WHAT HAS GOTTEN INTO YOU!?! … Which might seem like a negative question, but it’s really my prompt to say “It’s JESUS!” This has happened before and I want it to continue. I want to love on people and help others and treat others the way JESUS did. I want to SHINE a light all around so people may see the truth and the way. I never want to stop that.

Retire? Ha!

Last night I watched a movie where this saying was used: “He died with his boots on.” This, of course, means he died working until the very end. THAT is the way I want to go! If I go tomorrow, next week, next month, year, decade…live till I’m 95.67 years old or beyond, I WANT TO DIE LIKE THAT!

I will keep on working for MY GOD! I will keep my work boots on and try my best to show others why they should too.

(BY THE WAY: Bro. Glenn Dunaway is 74 years young and still working! I thank God for him!)

This is for yesterday and today.
I actually got on to post last night and got so sleepy I didn’t!   A body needs rest from time to time!

This week has been so busy with so many things.  No need to list it all.  I’d just be babbling–but hey, when am I not!?!

So, I won’t babble about that today, but some other stuff that has come into my head lately.

Earlier in the week, my early morning Bible reading was about the woman who washed Jesus’ feet with her tears and wiped them clean with her hair.  What a honor she had in doing this!

Most people would cringe at the thought of touching others’ feet.  I know one of my friends who gets sick just looking at feet.  You have to admit, feet aren’t the best looking parts on our bodies most of the time.  They are the most used pair of things on our body at times though.  They get tired.  They get worn.  They get dirty …and crusty.  Some sweat, some stink.  Ew.

BUT SERIOUSLY, Jesus…  This woman got to touch GOD!  I think about the woman in the Bible who just touched a small part of his robe and was healed.  How do you think this woman who took time to make Jesus feel comfortable and loved felt after being able to do such a deed?  She was “a woman of ill-repute” as some translations say.  However the translation uses words to describe her, she was not a woman that was thought to be good company to someone who was Godly–she was a ….sinner.  She was a disgusting sinner to most of those in the room, but to Jesus, she was FORGIVEN.  She was redeemed.  She would be in Heaven with Him one day!  She knew she needed to be forgive and humbled herself before the savior to not only show her knowledge of needing Him, but to somehow try and repay Him for His gift–maybe? (even though I know there’s no way we can repay what He did on the cross!) I’m not sure of her mindset, but I do know that what she did was sincere and amazing.  Jesus said…

Luke 7:48  Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

He knew she believed in Him.

I’m a horrible sinner!  I have done things that are not of God.  I have worked for the evil one.  I do things daily that I should not do.  I want to move away from such things and closer to GOD.  I want to touch God!  I want to wash Jesus’ feet!  I want to hear Jesus say the words He said to this woman who did this great thing for Jesus.  I believe!
