FULL

This is my picture of the day:

pig

I was so blessed to be able to accompany my daughter and her FFA chapter to the Fort Worth Stock Show today.  I also get to spend time with my teacher friends since it is the chapter from the school I teach!  Yay!

This was my favorite picture of the day for so many reasons:

  1. Little piggies are just cute (they stink, but they’re still cute).
  2. It reminded me of the work a momma does.
  3. It made me smile big thinking of all those satisfied babies.
  4. It’s just a sweet scene.

I entitled it FULL, because they are FULL!  As a pig, they are exactly where they want to be.

Being full doesn’t always mean just having your belly content and pleased.   For us, it’s being comfortable with who we are.  It’s about being loved.  It’s about knowing we are wanted and cared for.  So, for me, this pic didn’t just make me smile about those happy satisfied piglets and their smiling momma (look close, she’s smiling!)… it made me smile thinking about how awesome the moment is when WE remember how FULL we are.

Be blessed…Be FULL!

TOO

Are you too much of something?  We think of ourselves as too fat, too ugly.  Too tired to do something.  Too much work to do.  Too much time or is it tooooo LITTLE time?  Too short, to tall, too hairy, too loud…
They say too much of anything is bad, right?

I wouldn’t say that about ALL THINGS.  Somethings can’t be measured on the TOO MUCH scale.  I can never get too much love, smiles, inspiration, joy or JESUS.

I’ve been called TOO HAPPY.  You know what that makes me?  EVEN HAPPIER!  I do not take offense to that even when the person saying it may mean it to be offensive.  I do admit my happiness may be annoying to others at times, but to tell someone they are TOO happy implies that there is such a thing.  I believe that is false.  How can you be TOO HAPPY?  I understand there are drugs out there that can induce happiness and maybe that is getting a little TOO HAPPY.  I’ve heard people refer to drunk people as TOO HAPPY.  To me, those state of minds are not really HAPPY…those things are just masking sad or angry or… whatever.

I promise you, I am not partaking of anything that is messing with the chemical make-up of my brain.

I AM HAPPY.  Yes, I try my absolute hardest to look at the good in every situation.  I AM HAPPY.  Too happy?  Absolutely not ..and how do I know?  Because MY HAPPY comes from knowing that JESUS went to the cross for me and because of Him, I can have hope for every day. (#thankfulEVERYday)  I know without a doubt that I always have a friend with me, beside me and in me.  I know that WHATEVER happens…I WIN IN THE END.  I know that I am a victor over anything, because HE has given me that victory already–IT’S DONE!  Yes, I struggle with issues.  I am hard on myself and others at times.  I said I was HAPPY, not perfect!  I go through the trials, tribulations and hard times of this world, but my outlook on the good or bad of this life is HAPPY, because JESUS LIVES!

I pray that you too can be TOO HAPPY because of the exact same reason!

Amen!

Thank YOU for peace.

MY FACEBOOK POST TODAY:

Life can get absolutely insanely chaotic at times, but there is always a still calm peace present when you know WHO made you. Just sayin.

‪#‎thankfulEVERYday‬

It is so true!  There has definitely been some chaos in my life recently, but I know MY GOD is real and therefore I make it, because HE is my strength.  How do people who don’t have His strength do it?  It’s a fact that a lot of them don’t.  I won’t get into that.  I know there are many arguments that could go along with that statement and I don’t write this blog for that.

I write this blog to reflect and remind myself of the wonderfulness this world has…and the WONDERFULNESS I am looking forward to when my life here in this world is done.

So, even in the craziness that sometimes seems like it’s being dumped on our head like a big ole bucket of paint…

I can say …sing even…

“It is well, with my soul…it is well, it is well…with my soul!”  because…

“What ever my lot YOU have taught me to say
It is well, it is well with my soul”

Thank You Lord for teaching me this and sustaining me through anything in order to have Your peace.  Amen.

EAT THE BROWNIES!

WHY!?!

This is another questioning blog today.  Why, Why, Why must people only look on the dark, ugly, nasty and gloomy side of life?  They wake up mad, go through the day spewing hate and bad breath (I just imagine) and then go to bed mad.

Why!?

Circumstance?  Past?  Baggage?  Constipation?  Upset stomach?

If you gave them a plate of chocolate chip cookies and told them have a happy day…they would think or even say, “I prefer brownies.”  Ok, if you gave them a plate of the best BROWNIES -in-the-world with a smiley face balloon and a chilly glass of milk… they would say, “I’m trying to watch what I eat.”   Really!?!  IT IS BROWNIES!  (the best ones in the world even)

Hersheysbrownies14

I’m pretty sure you get my point.

WHY!?!

Is this day so bad that you have to TRY (cuz it ain’t happening to this gal) and make others have a bad day too?  Would that actually make you “happy?”  OR would that somehow make your life, in some sick weird way, more meaningful?

NO.  I’m telling you right now, that is a NO.  Negative. Never, absolutely not, uh-uh and not at all.

Yes, I’m answering my own questions here.  It’s ok.  I do that sometimes.

It is most emphatically and positively truth that ATTITUDES ARE CONTAGIOUS.  Is yours worth catching?  When people look at me, I want them to WANT what I got!  I’m not hiding my light under a bushel–NO!  I’m gonna let it shine!  I am not extinguishing the fire of JOY the Almighty God has given me to share.  No way!  I’m gonna pass it out like goody bags at a birthday party!  Here’s one for you and you and you…

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YOURSELF from the past baggage or circumstance that is darkening your days. Have a HAPPY!  Here, take a smile.  Do you need a hug?  Let go of whatever is making you look for the opposite of happy.  Take some Milk of Magnesia!  Whatever you gotta do!!!  But colon cleanse that nasty attitude OUT before you end up living your life alone or worse…with another stopped up negative nilly who can only compound the unhappiness in your life.  (Misery loves company? Eeeek!)

Do whatever you gotta do!!! Did I say that already?  Repetition means IT’S IMPORTANT!

Don’t be one of those people that can’t find happy anywhere…

DIG DEEP! Trudge through it.  Dust it off, wipe it away… until you find that treasure called HAPPINESS and …

JUST BE HAPPY.

(and eat the dadgum brownies!!!)

I CHOOSE.

This has been a lovely day.

Well, in MOST parts. I had happy day wishes and neat gifts, a good breakfast, great church service, Papacitas, sunshine, rain, wind, good music, smiles… The happiness list is long.

How can one event ruin a day? It can’t. I must continue to remind myself that IT CANNOT do that!  The devil wants it to, but I refuse to allow it.

I won’t go into the ugliness of this day. Face it, if you look hard enough, you are sure to find some ugliness in every day. I choose NOT to do that.

I CHOOSE!

I will grab all the happiness of this day and run, arms wide open, through a field of sunshine and sprinkles!!!

I know, that sounds a bit crazy, but if that is what I have to imagine in order to give GOD all the glory for this day and rip any satisfaction the devil may think he deserves from it…

Then THAT is what I shall do!!!

BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT…

I CHOOSE.

Oh Happy Day to All!

And…

Happy Mother’s Day to all you Moms!

It’s NOT Friday!?!

It’s the middle of the week and it’s felt like a Friday all day.  I certainly love every day of the week (I’m an equal opportunity kinda gal), but Friday just always seems a little FREE-ER …I know you know the feeling.  I’m really unsure why today felt like Friday, but here’s my bullet form theories…

  • I started teaching my FAVORITE unit in Art I today: ANIMATION! I love Walt DISNEY AND Mickey and they are all up in that lesson plan.
  • My sculpture class is doing plaster casting of their hands and it’s a super fun experience to have with them. I love my job!
  • The Spaghetti dinner and 5K events that took a lot of time and energy to put together was completed last weekend.  YAY!
  • My girl child got an EXCELLENT report card today, found out she had a .439 batting average for her softball season this year and I’m just so proud of that kid!
  • I laughed out loud A LOT today. I always have fun at work because I love my job (did I say that already) and who I work with, but today just seemed more joy-filled for whatever reason.  Everyone was a comedian today!  Love that!
  • We are having company this weekend which always makes me get a little excited no matter who it is. I really like being a host.
  • The sermon tonight at our Wednesday night meeting was all about how GOD loves us. I knew this, of course, but the way the preacher presented it really gave me a stronger outlook on the fact. GOD MADE THIS EARTH ESPECIALLY FOR US… He made us on purpose AND sacrificed His Son for us.  What more confirmation do we need!?!

Ok, there ya go.  I’m sure there are more reasons I could give for the feeling of “Friday” freedom I had all day today, but maybe I’ll save them for another blog.

I hope for you a great “Friday” freedom kind of day… Even when it’s not Friday!
