How wonderful an honor it is to me when people ask me to pray for them!  The more specific they can get about exactly what to pray for, the more I love to do it.  Not to say I won’t say a general prayer by any means…  I just think praying for someone especially when they ask you to is an awesome power God has given us.  No matter what circumstance, prayer is power.

What about those ones you know need GOD?

These are the ones you know  NEEEEEEED PRAYERS.

You know that they seriously need to leave chaos behind and seek some peace in their life.  You see it by their attitude and their fruit.  Their fruit is rotten, stinky and full of worms.  Ew.  They are flippant and rude to others.  Their attitudes are sour, their disposition down and for the most part, they are just down right mean.

What about THOSE?

They are not asking you to pray.

They couldn’t care less whether you utter their name to God or not.

It’s doubtful they even believe in the ALMIGHTY, SOUL SAVING, ALIVE AND AMAZING GOD!   Whaaaaaaaat?

I admit that praying for these people is harder than the ones who ask earnestly for you to lift them up in prayer.  It’s harder to want peace for these people, because most of the time they have this cloud of negativity surrounding them that harbors and creates the very opposite of peace.  Most of the time, it messes your happy, positive cloud.   To me, I see their cloud as a call.  It’s a call that they need something.  They need some action…some intervention!  They need prayers.  BAD.   So, whether they like it, want it or hate that I’m doing it… I’m gonna…

Do you think you are TOO old or TOO far gone to be SAVED BY JESUS?  Do you think there’s no way you could do anything good or even if you tried, you might not like it?   Maybe your excuse has to do with how you grew up or where you lived.   Perhaps you blame others for not encouraging you or teaching you.

This is what was put on my heart today when I read/heard the parable below.  You may want to read it first.  So, here it is:

((This is JESUS talking, of course))

The Parable of the Vineyard Workers

Matthew 20: 1-16

“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. 2 After agreeing with the workers on one denarius for the day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 When he went out about nine in the morning,[a] he saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. 4 To those men he said, ‘You also go to my vineyard, and I’ll give you whatever is right.’ So off they went. 5 About noon and at three,[b] he went out again and did the same thing.6 Then about five[c] he went and found others standing around,[d] and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day doing nothing?’

7 “‘Because no one hired us,’ they said to him.

“‘You also go to my vineyard,’ he told them.  When evening came, the owner of the vineyard told his foreman, ‘Call the workers and give them their pay, starting with the last and ending with the first.’

“When those who were hired about five came, they each received one denarius. So when the first ones came, they assumed they would get more, but they also received a denarius each.  When they received it, they began to complain to the landowner:  ‘These last men put in one hour, and you made them equal to us who bore the burden of the day and the burning heat!’

“He replied to one of them, ‘Friend, I’m doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me on a denarius? Take what’s yours and go. I want to give this last man the same as I gave you. Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my business? Are you jealous because I’m generous?’

“So the last will be first, and the first last.”

After hearing this in the DAILY AUDIO BIBLE reading this morning, I thought about how awesome it is that God doesn’t distinguish between young or old Christians.  He has plans for us no matter what our age.  AND WE ALL GET HIS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, AMAZING GRACE AND WONDERFUL PEACE.

AND GUESS WHAT—If you are lost and don’t know Jesus, GOD STILL HAS PLANS FOR YOU!  Please don’t keep denying His love.  The sooner you do it, the sooner you can benefit from His gift.

You may be like those workers who were hired later in the day (later in life –you come to know Jesus as your personal savior), but no matter–YOU ARE STILL A VESSEL GOD CAN USE–no matter what your age, what your past, what family you came from, house you live in or any other circumstance you have.

I’ve heard and read this parable before and even used it in a lesson before in Sunday School Class, but I haven’t had this speak to me this loud before.  So many people give the excuse of not coming to church by saying church is not for them or there are too many hypocrites in church.  That last one makes me giggle, because there are hypocrites EV ER Y WHERE… church is actually the best place for them to go.  Church can help you learn to be less hypocritical.  Duhh.  Anyway, there is no REAL valid excuse as to why you shouldn’t believe in Jesus.  Life is so much better with Him.  Life is still crazy, but with JESUS, the crazy doesn’t seem hard to bare.  HOW AWESOME IS THAT!?

The parable: NO MATTER WHAT YOUR EXCUSE is on why you can’t serve Jesus—get rid of it!

You can receive HIS grace because he paid it all…and you get the benefits.

Thank You Jesus!

Shoe design :)

Yesterday toward the end of my “BLAH” day, I decided to go to our local Dollar General and find some shoes to doodle on.  I’ve been wanting to do this, but really wanted some white shoes.  I didn’t want to travel to another town (part of the lazy of my day yesterday), so I just got these kind of ugly grey shoes here in our little town.

Anyway, I visited the website BUCKET FEET the other day and was so inspired by all of the different designs.  It is a site where artists have created shoe designs and you can actually purchase them.  So cool.

That’s the main reason I wanted some white shoes–so I could really do a graffiti style work on them.  Art doesn’t always work out like you planned.  Another reason I love art!  Actually when I’m creating, I’m praying.  God allows me to have this talent and he guides my mind and hands when doing it.  It’s an amazing feeling!

Check out the product…

I first decided to spray paint over some of the grey, because that background color was so dark and my markers (both paint and permanent) were not showing up like I wanted them to.  Out to the shop I went!  Once the shoes dried enough, I brought them in.

Then, after getting the tops more developed, I moved to the sides.  It was like creating in my sketchbook (commonplace book), yet the background medium posed a little more of a challenge because of the texture and color–not to mention the shape of the artwork.

I left the shoes last night knowing I would finish them up this morning.  After my morning walk, I got back in and touched up here and there.  Added a few hearts, words and textural lines.  I could probably add more, but I don’t want to take away from the design that is already there.

I took them outside on my deck to take pictures.  Natural light is ALWAYS better.  Well, LOOK AT THIS PHOTO!  It was like God was shining His light on them.  Once I took the picture, the light rays poked back in behind the trees.  How awesome is that!?  ((Thank You Lord!))  The main message of my pair of shoes is “LOOK AT THE LIGHT,” because God is light!  That makes this picture even more special to me.

And here they are from the top.  This is what I will look down on.  The comfort of these shoes aren’t super high (they were $6 at the dollar store–what could I expect!), but I’m pretty sure when I wear them–I WILL FEEL THE LIGHT as I do all the time.

God is STILL at work.

These days we hear so many negative comments like “This world is going to hell in a hand basket.”   There is so much evil in this world.  We hear about it, read about it, watch the news and horrible documentaries over it.  It’s televised, broadcast and instant messaged all around us.  We mope over the horribleness we see.  We lament about circumstances we do not have control over.  We go on and on about things that are shocking and sad.

Reminding ourselves daily that no matter what happens in this world, because if you can think it up, it can happen, GOD IS STILL AT WORK!  He is continuously drawing people nearer and nearer to Him.  He uses His people to shine the light on His word and His way.  Not all people choose to open their eyes to it, BUT NOT ALL PEOPLE CHOOSE NOT TO EITHER!  There are still people being SAVED by Jesus, because they choose to be.  This world may be evil and down right ugly, but WE ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD!

I get so discouraged when I hear people going on and on about the state of our nation and world.  They talk about how pitiful and ohhh what a shame it is that it has gotten so corrupt.  Even to go on about this, to me, is adding to it.  We talk about how negative the daily news is, but when we talk about it, aren’t we falling into the trap they are setting for us?  That is what this world wants us to do.  That is what the devil wants us to do.  That nasty little demon wants us to talk about bad stuff and go on and on about horrible things.  He wants US to broadcast his hate.  Let’s not do it!

SAY NO!  Stand up for JESUS! Broadcast what is GOOD in this world and that only through JESUS can you have the JOY and PEACE that we all long for.

You want to stop seeing all the nasty that goes on in this world?  Look to JESUS!

I promise, God is still at work.  He is.  We only need to look toward the mighty works HE does and not to all the other stuff.  If it’s not OF GOD, it’s not worth our time.

Happy Thoughts

I like to think HAPPY THOUGHTS! Happiness is my main goal–daily, hourly, minute by minute, second by second. I love being happy. I love PEACE. Peace is happiness, happiness is peace.

Some days I find it a battle to continue the happy thoughts. I have friends who have cancer, students who need Jesus, family members who I won’t mention, events that make the world cry, crimes, fires and the list of unfortunate events goes on.

I feel as though my happiness has to transform into a sword to slay the funky stuff that I come across. The bad attitudes and continuous grouchiness of those around me are the first things I have to defeat. I find myself being pulled down. It’s like they are trying to win me to THEIR side! It’s exhausting!

I do get overwhelmed at times, but I just remember …I have to keep my HAPPY THOUGHTS, because I never ever know what those thoughts do for others when they turn into happy words, smiles or actions. Yes, I will keep my HAPPY THOUGHTS no matter what.

Can’t steal my JOY!

You can’t do it.
You cannot say enough, do enough or even create enough drama in my life to steal my joy!
I refuse to allow the things around me to put the seeds of evilness into my soul.
I will reject your frowns, karate chop your rude comments and drop kick, body slam and squash your insults. (haha…How’s that for JOY!?) Don’t hate me because I’m happy. I know it sickens some and makes you upset that I can be this happy. I only see that as jealousy. Stop it! Find YOUR joy! (don’t try and steal mine!) It’s totally up to you.
Are you STILL sad? I’m sorry, but that does not give you the right to try and make me join your pity party. I will wear my own party hat which is that of happiness, joy and elation! I am thinking about the huge cake with white icing and colorful sprinkles right now! I smell peace which makes me the happiest of all!
As I said, just try! You can’t do it! You can’t steal my JOY!

Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. -Hebrews 12:14 NIV

UG! *SIGH* REALLY!?!  We are supposed to live in peace WITH ALL MEN!?  And ladies, I’m not just talking about the men.  You all know this.  When it talks about MEN in the Bible, it’s talking about MANKIND–us, them and we.  UG!  *SIGH*  REALLY!?

Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. -Hebrews 12:14 NIV

So, this was part of my daily Bible reading earlier in the week.  I printed it on my mirror and have been reading it.  It’s so hard to do this sometimes.  Don’t get me wrong, PEACE is my fave, but having it with ALL MEN is a struggle.  I try my best.  I can say I love them.  I know I **HAVE** to do that.   We love all, not with a lustful desire, but one of compassion and caring.  I find that easy to do most all of the time.  BUT here it is right there in the HOLY WORD that we are to “live in peace with all men…” and what happens if we don’t!?  WE WON’T SEE GOD!?  For real!?  Well, there it is.  Right there in Hebrews.  We are supposed to do it just like we are supposed to love ’em.

Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. -Hebrews 12:14 NIV

UG! *SIGH* REALLY!?!  What about those that put you down, make you feel dumb, fat and/or ugly on purpose!?  What about those who talk about your family, hurt your friends or are just downright mean to whoever, whenever?  Believe it or not, they are “MEN” (or mankind) too even though a lot of times we don’t even see them as human.

Yes, I’m writing this blog mainly because this has been a big struggle for me here lately.  There are a couple of people in particular that just rub me wrong.  They make me question my own sanity sometimes cuz they make uh me crizazy!  I just have to remember that God loves all and I’m supposed to too AND He says we are to keep peace with all so we can see HIM and I gotta do it!  I’m working on it–Lord knows I am!  Will it get easier?  I think so.  I really do.  I have faith that the Lord will allow me to look at people like this in a different light.  Not sure exactly what kind of light that will be as of yet, but I’m confident that soon, very soon, my agitation and agravation will dissipate and POOF! be gone.  I’m so ready for that.  In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
