Unspoken

There are so many people out there with secrets, with torment and pain.  We go on knowing that what we are doing is wrong.  Believe me, I know this, because I’m one of those.  I’m certain you are too.  You have something you haven’t told others about yourself or there is something that you do that you know you shouldn’t.  You try not to, but it happens. Sometimes we may do it and not even realize it until it’s out there–like a lion released from it’s cage!  I could start listing specific things, but I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.  WE ALL SIN.

Most of us judge our sins by others’ sins.  We tend to think our sin is better or “cleaner” than someone else’s sin so it’s not so bad.  Some of our sins are culturally accepted so what’s really bad about it?  We think such sins are just “ok.”  It’s not.  It’s still dark, ugly and of the devil.  Anything that is “of the devil” is NOT ok.  Still, we don’t think that way… we don’t see the sin for what it truly is and keep on doing it, not concerned with what it may be doing to ourselves or to those around us.

What is it doing to your TESTIMONY?

I have an unspoken prayer request for someone I know who needs God’s strength to overcome sin.  We all need that.  We all need to pray for each other.  We need GOD’s strength to get satan off our back and to pull away from all the sins that plague us.

Prayer is power!  We are blessed with this power in the present world …helping us prepare for the world of reward promised to us by the blood of JESUS!

Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”

Prayer WORKS!

I’m still talking about prayer today…

I try my best to always send up thankful, grateful and praising prayers. I believe this is the main reason I have a somewhat HAPPY outlook on life. I know that praying is not just a one way street. God constantly reaffirms that to me through the everyday blessings of life. He allows me to see things, hear things, read things, talk to people, share with others and do things that makes me vividly aware that HE IS REAL.

PRAYER WORKS

If you ever ask yourself “WHY do I pray?” …then I think maybe you don’t pray enough OR you don’t look for the blessings that follow. START LOOKING! They are there.

Want an example? I’m on it!

This is just ONE example of how prayer works!

One of my friends asked for me to pray for her husband who was not in church and not saved. She had been praying for him forever and was just reaching out for others to do the same. I went home and wrote his name in my prayer journal. I prayed for his eyes to be open and know that he is God’s child. I specifically prayed for his salvation. About three months later, I was invited to this friend’s church by a different friend. Seriously, just got invited on that same day and decided to go like a few minutes before we left to go. As the service went on, it was a great message and such a blessing. Then, I realized that my friend’s husband was there. I thought, “HOW COOL!” The service was kind of winding down and the preacher said he had an announcement and my friend’s husband came up to the front of the church. HE ANNOUNCED THAT HE WAS SAVE! And got baptized that night! God knew I needed to be there to see it. I was so full of joy and felt so honored that God allowed me to see prayers truly work.

You may think that was coincidence, but I don’t believe in coincidence, I BELIEVE IN BLESSINGS! God did that for my friend, her husband, their family and church… and even for me. PRAYER WORKS!

So when you wonder if prayer works or you are getting antsy as to when those prayers will be answered—remember, GOD’s timing is perfect and you should just KEEP ON KEEPIN ON PRAYING!

PRAYER WORKS!

AWESOMENESS

Awesome people are so awesome! They are happy and smiley and NICE. Nice is so important. Is it really hard to be nice? I mean, I know we all have those days where we are just tired and worn out, but is a SMILE so hard to muster? I think NOT! You can always smile –at the very least. Just think of a happy thought and BAM–THERE COMES A SMILE! Simple, right?

I had the opportunity to come in contact with A TON of people this last week. From the airport, to the resort and on to the many different locations we ended up going, PEOPLE WERE EVERYWHERE! Literally, no where I looked was there an empty space which did not contain another human, well, besides the bathroom stall, I guess. SOOO MANY PEOPLE! And I’m gonna let ya know—some were not so nice or happy or even the least bit content with their current situation. I prayed for one in particular that had what seemed to be a permanent scowl on his face. I admit, I do not know what was going on in his life and totally uncertain of the reason for his discontent, but I did and do know prayer can’t hurt it! So, there, in the airport, I prayed for this man. I prayed that something would make him happy. I am sure God did something for him. Who knows if he recognized it as such, but I know it happened, because my GOD is a mighty God and He makes things happen!

God especially makes AWESOME PEOPLE AWESOME…He put in our path so many people who were glad to help us and guide us and make us feel comfortable. He sent nice people who weren’t afraid to share their space or moment in life with us. Brief moments of pleasant conversation or even just a smiley face sprinkled our trip. I caught myself thanking God many times for those moments.

I even verbally thanked a few of our new brief moment friends for being so nice. One man even said, “Oh, I try my best to do just that.” How AWESOME?!?!! That right there is the AWESOMENESS I’m talking about.

We should all do our best to be awesome. It really isn’t a huge task. We just have to remember to keep things in perspective. An attitude of gratitude is important, and most of all, with the grace and the salvation we receive from GOD, being awesome isn’t hard at all! Don’t just think of a happy thought to make yourself smile like I said above, think BIGGER—> ALWAYS keep in mind —He allows us a daily DO-OVER (wipe away the past), the gift of every day (right down to the air we breathe), salvation from anything that has ever held us down (AMEN!) and the constant knowing that He has us in the palm of His hand (CUZ ONLY HE IS IN CONTROL). If we can only do this, life isn’t hard to keep in perspective and we can find it easy to be AWESOME.

Below, I’m sharing the front of a thank you card we received in the mail this week. It made me smile HUGE and reminded me that we should all thank those who have that AWESOMENESS more often, but most of all, thank GOD for putting them right where you need them.
