Snow and SUNSHINE

This is my fave pic from today’s snow day home from school (2nd time in 8 days).  I love that the sun came out and devoured all of the white fluffy stuff. I’m so ready for warm weather, sunshine and blue TEXAS skies. Thankful for all no matter what, but God knows I have favorites.

Happy Summer!

I took this pic of my daughter Morgan and her friend Maverick. His dad and I go way back–we graduated high school together– he invited us to come enjoy their pool. We had a good time! It was a beautiful day. The sun was in super force which makes me extra powered and the wind was breezy.
After I snapped it, I thought this pic looks so fun and bright and full of joy. This is how SUMMER should be!
Have you captured any truly summer moments?
Even though our summer break is almost half over, I hope for many more moments like these to record.
Happy Summer!

Photos of the Day

I walked around today taking some photos.

Here’s my sunny face pic…

Here are photos of different things and I tried to capture some interesting angles.

Here’s one I thought looked like a sweet old couple hanging out on my deck…

Faves of the day are OF COURSE of the SUN…

This last one I’m posting —I thought was super cool, because the reflection makes such a great effect. It’s actually a leaf in our birdbath under an awesome tree.

It started to clear up this afternoon. First, the blue spread across the sky … And then… I SAW THE SUN! It was a little later when I thought about taking a picture, but the sun was still and maybe even MORE beautiful…

The sun illuminated the golden trees in our yard…

We got to be in the yard for a little while without rain! The kids and dog were all smiles…

Sun Shining☀

This is my doodle for the day. We should be like the sun… KEEP ON SHINING no matter what!

Today’s AWESOME Pics

Saved by Grace

Today has been an amazing day. I spent most of the early morning listening to the Daily Audio Bible and doodling. This doodle I did above was inspired by a video I watched that was about an artist who designed John Mayer’s CD cover for his album Born and Raised. A great student of mine pointed me in the direction of this album. I stumbled upon this video–click here and you can go watch it too.

So, the style of old vintage sign art inspired the above design.
After adding all of the elements I enjoy, I realized that the entire piece is so symbolic. I wasn’t really planning for it, but it happened just like that–as art does all the time for me!

Here it is:
SAVED by the KEY which, of course, is JESUS. We ARE free (like the birds) and bright shinning like the SON (or sun!) because the veil was torn when Jesus became the sacrifice for our sins. He unlocked the door for us. How amazing it is to be SAVED BY GRACE! You should be able to find all of that stuff in the design. I loved creating this. I love that God gives me the talent to create things. To Him be all the glory!
