How can anger appear instantaneoulsy?
In a blink of an eye it can pop up out of nowhere.
Someone looks at you wrong, takes your words in the wrong way (MISCOMMUNICATION! UG!) or actually flips you “the bird.”
…AND THE FIRST SPARK OF ANGER POPS AND THE FLAME ROARS!
SOMETIMES, when I allow anger to take over my brain, it takes me forever to come to my senses. I get so stuck on the reasons why I’m upset. It’s crazy! Why do I allow that? I do this mainly with my husband and sometimes my children.
At work, it’s the total opposite. I know that the things students do in my classroom to make me upset really aren’t worth the anger. I, most of the time, do not take that personally. They need forgiveness, I believe, quick, so we can continue with our class– smoothly.
WHY CAN’T I DO THIS WITH EVERYONE!? Life is too short to keep anger. Like is too short to get hot-headed and crazy. Forgiveness should come quick and fast so LIFE CAN GO ON –SMOOTHLY! There is no time for revenge or bottled up ill feelings. What a waste of time.
I know I need to work on this. I am working on it now. Here are somethings that I’ve read lately that are going to help remind me…
Listen to this song. Really listen to the words.
“Now, I’m 83. ” When I first heard this song, that made me for real, surprisingly, laugh out loud. It’s so true. I look back and think about all the times I wasted. We have only a certain amount of moments here in this world and we can’t let things just slip on by. We have to make things count. I hate the fact that I waited so long to truly love the Lord. I wasted time playing and doing things that can only be described as “of the devil.” That is my biggest regret. Other things creep up when I start thinking about–I wish I had… but I know that I cannot bring the past back. I cannot change the past. I can only look to the future and pray I become closer to God and better at this life.
Thinking about my mom today, I wish I had been more patient with her and told her I loved her more often. I know she knew it, but I wonder if she ever doubted my love, because of my attitude. We should all treasure the time we have with each other. Don’t allow it to slip on by. Don’t allow things to go unspoken. Hug people! Smile at others. Don’t let another minute slip on by –another moment that you could be telling others about JESUS and the great things you have in life because of the many blessings that shower down on you daily. Don’t let it slip on by!
My sweet baby girl brought this video to my attention just a few minutes ago. This kid is hilarious! And speaks such truth. As mothers, let’s never forget that we are LOVED and we are APPRECIATED even though we feel worn out or even defeated at times. Our babies do love us even though their attitudes cause us to doubt sometimes. Remember, God made us to be servants and we should always feel honored to do the will of God!
“If every mom in the world knew how awesome they were, all the problems of this world would be fixed!” <—my favorite quote from this video! GO KID PRESIDENT!

What is something you love to do? You are totally obsessed with what? You have to do it because it’s a habit you have developed over time and it makes you happy, comfortable and content. It’s something that you just gotta do every day or your day feels weird?
Maybe it’s your coffee or a sequence of events within your daily routine.
I don’t have a lot of these THINGS I have to do or just love to do. One thing that I’m a bit obsessed with, though, and I know most all of you do this HOPEFULLY—is brushing my teeth 3 or 4 times a day. I love a clean mouth. A clean tooth really is a HAPPY tooth. Seriously, I love to brush my pearlies.
So, here is what I was thinking–WHAT IF we looked at something else in our life like I look at brushing my teeth? What if I make sure to look at spending time in the Bible as I look to brushing my teeth? Get excited about it! Or I look to praising and thanking God the way I look to making my mouth minty and fresh? Woohoo! This is the way it should be! God makes my life MINTY AND FRESH! He makes me tingle with happiness! He sent Jesus to make my smile bigger and wider! Thank YOU LORD!
What do you do that you are obsessed with? How much time in the day do you dedicate to it?
Check this out—
Prov. 10:27 Reverence for The Lord adds hours to the day.
So this means if we spend more time giving GOD our attention, we have more time in the day. Wow! Anything is possible with God!
It’s actually “THE HOLIDAYS” and I must admit, it came really fast this year. It seems like just a bit ago that we started the school year. Thanksgiving has already come and gone! PHEW! That was fast! They say times gets faster as you get OLDER. *boo* I say, it’s more like that other saying: “TIME FLIES WHEN YOU’RE HAVING FUN!” I sure do have fun… That has GOT to be the reason time is going by faster. The ONLY reason. ha! I do have fun.
I have fun with my family–almost no matter what we do. Unless it’s grocery shopping –gag.
I have fun teaching. I have fun LEARNING.
I have fun hanging out with my co-workers, with my friends who happen to be SOME of my co-workers.
I have super fun with my bestie.
I have super fun reading stuff–social stuff (if it’s not DRAMA), twitter tweets, blogs, books, etc.
I have fun brushing my teeth! Oh, what joy it gives me!
I just love to have fun. So, time does fly, because I like FUN. Fun makes the time zoom by.
I know you may be thinking that you don’t want time to go by so fast, but let me tell you in bold print–YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE TIME! So, why spend your time NOT having fun? and I’m not talking about crazy evil fun–I’m talking about just looking at life and enjoying it. If there is something in your life you do (such as your job) that you don’t ENJOY, perhaps you need a different path or at the very least change your outlook. There’s gotta be something about it that is enjoyable. FIND that something! (And stop making your face look like a wrinkled up prune!)
So, let’s circle back around–It’s the “Holidays.” I know it seems like it came up quick this year, but no matter what time of year it is, LET’S HAVE FUN! ZOOOOOOOOOOM ZOOOOOOOOOM!
A day or two of doing nothing, having no agenda and hanging out with people who make you happy is something we should all do. Taking time for yourself is so very important.
Do you ever have a day, week or month where you’ve had one thing after another? Stresses, headaches, meetings, practices, games, …and the list goes on.
This week, for me, it was Homecoming Week at school which involved a lot of planning. It was a bit stressful and crazy. When the game actually started last night, I was so ready to just sit down and stay down. Did I? Naw. I still had an alumni and t-shirt table to make sure people were working.
BUT what I did get to do today is drive out to a lake house that my sweet friend invited me to for a girls’ weekend retreat. I had an awesome massage, got to help paint some nails, did a picture frame art project, had fabulous dinner at the country club, sat around and ate the best pie I have ever eaten in my life, laughed and just relaxed. It was great!!!
No agendas. No plans. No need to do anything important or non-important. Just let whatever happen. It’s so important to take time out to renew yourself. Ladies especially, I believe it’s important to be with other fun women who believe God gave us each other as gifts! CUZ HE DID! Refresh your attitude, restore your mind. REBOOT! Just take time for YOURSELF.
It’s so important!
