Projects

Here are some pictures of projects from today. I started out painting and creating. Then my husband worked on these boxes that a friend made him. I painted the C in them.

I have to art.

A SHOUT OUT To My Glue Gun

Image

(picture is not my actual glue gun –stock photo)

An ODE TO MY GLUE GUN by Rita Clawson

My glue gun can help me create so many items.

I can adhere fabric and buttons and gems.

It allows me to create magnets and assemble flowers.

Oh, it has sooooooo many powers!

If I could wear it in a holster and not burn myself,

I’d be even more talented, even more creatively stealth.

The heat of it’s tip can cause such pain,

but when handled with care, you have so much to gain.

It can hem paints and create appliques and even

unite wood and metal to create awesome trays.

Browse youtube, google and pinterest

to find something to fit your style the best.

I bet that glue gun will fit the bill

for ANY project that gives you a creative thrill!

Ode to my glue gun

for all its pleasure and fun.

Ode to my glue gun

…which I could not GLUE WITHOUT…

Even though when safety is not my first thought

It makes me holler and SHOUT (maybe even cry a little)!

As I’ve said before, you never know what you will get when you show up in my little blog spot!  I’m sure there is SOMETHING you could write an “ode” to.

I LOVE ARTING!

So I spent a few hours in my shop today and made a ton of fun stuff.

I painted, drew, mod podged, hot-glued and duct taped.

I love creating things.

I’m going to add some photos of today’s products of ARTING…

These are DUCT TAPE creations.  Keychains, tin cans I covered and embellished, a magnetic photo frame I made out of the side of a cereal box, then some other frames I created from recycled stuff–cd case and a little plastic box that paper clips came in.

This is probably my favorite art to do…PAINTING on wood or whatever I can find.  I love to illustrate quotes and sayings to be hung.

20130727-194026.jpg

This is a little new idea I did. I found something like it on Pinterest.  I actually just started putting things together.  It actually looks better in person than it does in this pic.  A cute way to keep an kind of small office supply.

This bag, I believe, is the CUTEST thing I made today.  I created it using a canvas block to add to the front (attaching it with fabric glue) and then adding felt and buttons with very high temp hot glue (didn’t burn myself this time!) and then the owl is done with acrylic paint with HUGE bling eyes to go along with the Socrates quote: WISDOM BEGINS IN WONDER.

My whole theme today was quite eclectic; therefore, not really having a theme at all.  I just gathered the stuff I had and started putting it together.  What a FUN DAY!!!

I LOVE ARTING!
